Has anyone seen any suppliers of aftermarket doghouses (engine covers) for econoline models? Mine (1988 e150) is fine, but I'd like to see if there are any with some storage built-in or other nice features which aren't present in the stock.
Or, if anyone makes replica stock-designs, I wouldn't mind doing some fabrication, just that it's my daily-driver and I can't really be without for a extended period.
My father's conversion van has things bolted to the cover. Go online and look at conversion van sites. They might sell something that would work. Or go to a bone yard and get one and build what you want. They can't cost much, and you won't be without the truck.
Indeed. Mine's not a CW XLT, though. Specifically, I'm thinking of doing some audio/video integration and really don't want to chop up the dash (for obvious reason) and I'd love to actually HAVE a glove box, which the van doesn't have now.
My '93 E350 RV Van Conversion came with a factory option from Ford that bolts on to the back of the dog house and is a storage cabinet for tapes and other items and is about 6" deep.
You might check with Ford to see what might be available or make a cabinet to fit the area. Either way, you will probably have to modify somthing that will work for you.
