Hello everyone, I am new to this site, and wondering if any of you could point me to some halogen type headlights that will fit a '72 F250. Any input greatly appreciated. TIA, Hank
Hi Matt, that may be true about the wattage for the headlights. And I know the law says you go to low beam one mile from oncoming cars and 1/2 mile from car you are coming upon, but let's be realistic. How many vehicles do you see that have headlights that would serve as spotlights for coyote hunting? There's way toomany to count. And they aren't necessarily bright in your eyes, but surely light the road.
701, you may be correct about the large use of illegal lights....But they are starting to come down on people that run them. I know up here in WA, they can make you park it.
Getting a set of Silver Stars would work, but you can get your standard halogens brighter by installing relays to the headlights.
I did a h4 conversion and added a set of relays. Much better, and legal.
those "diamond cut" ebay lights are cool looking, but make sure you get the ones with GLASS lenses, or you will be getting the ole' reliable halogen in two years when your "diamonds" turn into amber or get all oxidized. plastic headlights suck!!
I put Autozone stocked Sylvania Extra Vision, and did the relay deal.
For less than 30bux it made a drastic improvement.
Not quite the quality of the IPF's in my Cherokee, but, very nice just the same.
I gotta do this relay thing too, I have those silver stars, and they are only as bright as a regular set of halogens (although I am quite impressed with the performance of the silverstars over regular halogens.)
