I have a 2000 F350 PSD w/86000 mi.I have trouble with hard starting. I replaced the glowplugs and relay along with two new batteries and I still am having and issue with hard starting. A friend with a Superchip 1705 pulled 2 codes P0603 and P0470. My questions are:
If code P0603 is an Internal Control Module Cam Error, is this the Cam Senser they are talking about?
If code P0470 is the Back Pressure Sensor Circuit Error, what is that and where is it located on the engine?
Will clearing these codes help with hard starting?
Or is the Cam Sensor simply to blame?
Anyones help one this matter would be most appreciated
Things to check
P0603-Battery cables loose or poor connection, blown fuse, PCM
P0470-Damaged EBP sensor, open signal to ground, PCM
The sensor is on the top front of the engine near the right valve cover. It is attached to a tube that comes off of the front of the right exhaust manifold.
P603 refers to Internal Control Module KAM (keep alive memory) error- this code can set when disconnecting power to the PCM. This code is probably related to your replacement of the batteries. I also get it when I change programs with my Microtuner- not anything to worry about. Probably won't show up again after clearing.
