Question Remote door lock?

Hi. I Have a 90 E350 with crank windows. I have an 89 donor van with power windows, power locks and and are supposed to work with the remote. I have the button, but it must need batteries. I am going to switch doors. I don't care if the rear doors lock with power, just the front. My question is what do I have to take along with the doors? What works the remote signal, and where is it? I assume the power windows are all contained in the doors. Thanks for any help.

I don't know about the remote stuff, but you will need a harness that feeds power to the doors, and probably goes across from door to door for the manual switches. If you figure it all out, write back and lets us know. There is always someone wanting to upgrade their truck or van with factory accessories, and there is always a debate whether the factory included some of the extra wires on a no-option truck.

Franklin, so far I have not found any factory installed wiring for the doors. I have to basically start from scratch. I think I can figure out the windows, about 50-50 on the door locks, and I am not even thinking about the remote part until I get some time, if ever. The windows will be a big improvement. The donor van has a large aftermarket fuse panel I am taking out, to put into mine. I think it might be easier and cleaner instead of trying to figure out the original. My van started out as a work truck. If you have a window van without power, it might still have some better factory wiring. The F series might be totally different. If anyone knows an easy way to wire the windows and doors it would be a help. No sense trying to reinvent the wheel. Thanks.
