Tire ed
Could someone offer a primer on tire sizes or point me to a web site that offers info on tire sizing? For example, I can understand what a 275/65/18 is for the most part, but then I read posts where folks are talking about 33" tires, etc. That's what I have a difficult time understanding. Help please?

it's just easier to say (or type) 33" tire than to say (or type) the metric conversion. a 285/70R17 tire converts to a 32.6" dia x 11.22" wide tire but is generally referred to as a 33" dia tire even though it is actuall a bit smaller.
