Thumbs down Dealer Rip off

My mom was in the neighbourhood of the local Ford dealer today so I got her to pick up 2 glow plugs for the IDI because I have 1 burn't out. I thought I would get a spare because the rest of plugs are fine. The darn Ford dealer charged 24 dollars each for freeking glow plugs. The last time I bought a GP from them was 2 years ago and the price was around 18 dollars. When mom got back she said it was 54 dollars I said ya right look at the bill sure enough it was 54 flipping dollars

We don't have any big box stores here only small parts stores the biggest store chain we have here is Canadian Tire and I hate dealing with them. The local diesel shop sells Bosch and Crappion GPs they can't or don't stock Beru plugs.

I looked at Diesel Auto Services they have Beru plugs on for 15.60 each I should have had them mail me some GPs I would have saved 16.00 dollars. Postage wouldn't be anymore than 2 dollars you could put them in a regular mail envelope. Man I'am ticked at the Ford dealer I would like to take the plugs and shove them up the parts person's butt. Thats the last time I deal with them

Ohya those are CND Prices as I'am a Canadian and live in Beautiful B.C.

Try the internet before you get it in the butt by the stealership. While you are waiting for the delivery from out of town, plug the block heater in for more reliable start in the winter (if you're in cold climate).

$24? Heck there $28.50 where I am. I just about pooped when they told me it was gonna be $228 for a set! And that's before tax! I went elsewhere. Just return the plugs and buy them on E-bay or something.

I had the same experience at the local stealership last week. The parts guy told me it was 24.00 US for each plug and I laughed at him and jut went 5 miles down the road to Autozone and got them for 9.99. What kind of crap are they trying to pull?

They also said it was 60.00 for the block heater cord. Sounds too high to pay for some wires and metal prongs.
Does anyone know if a International semi parts dealer would sell stuff for our IDIs?

I'am just going to keep the two plugs because by the time I drive there and back I would burn 10 dollars worth of fuel plus a hour of my time.

I will order them through Diesel Auto Services or another supplier that can mail them to me.

I have run into road blocks for Ford parts at IH. Apparently Ford purchased the parts rights or something and IH will not have, nor stock some parts.

I just went through looking for a 7.3 oil dipstick......nope Ford part. Also wanted an upper coolant manifold.......nope Ford part, so some parts may be available others not.
