Started my Ex this morning to find that I had, by magic, lost 28000 miles from the odometer. For some reason it now displays 855 (I don't think the real reading was 28855). Anyone else had this problem? I restarted several times and it remained at the low setting. It got real cold last night and sometimes that can affect cpu's. As luck would have it, the truck is having a slightly early 30000 mile service in preperation for a trip to Florida, so right now it is at the dealer.
The trip meter showed 63 miles. Just got it back and the correct miles were showing again. The dealer could not explain why. Non the less, he left my wallet empty for the service.
The milage is stored on more than one computer in just about all car/trucks these days. The dealer probably cleared it up with a reset on the computer, sort of like reseting your home computer.
......Non the less, he left my wallet empty for the service.
Aren't you still under factory warranty?!?
You have a good bit less than 36K miles on your rig and they took money from you? It's a no deductable, bumper to bumper warranty. (atleast from what I understand) How did this happen?

If he was having his 30K service done, as he said, then things like filters and fluids aren't covered under the warranty of course. And on the 6.0 if you buy your filters from the dealer (which I guess you do if you have them do the service!) then you're paying several times what you'd pay for them anywhere else. About $100 for the fuel filter set, for instance. (This is why I do all my own maintenance.)
