Bad Injector Question

Ok, I got my truck back after 10 days in the shop. It had a bad #6 injector, O-Ring, O-Ring retainer, and the high pressure oil rail was replaced because it was gouged. After doing some searches, it seems that others have found fuel in the oil when an injector went. They claimed the oil was low when they checked it and they had to top it off. My question is should I send an oil sample into blackstone to test and/or change the oil. I wasn't going to change the oil and and send an oil sample in for another 1500 miles but I am beginning to think I should do it now. Any thoughts? It is an 2004 F-250, production date June 28, 2004 has this been a common failure in later 2004's? I thought it was mor of a 2003/early 2004 problem.

Thanks

It couldn't hurt to test the oil, for your peace of mind, but it is entirely possible to have an injector go and *not* fill the crankcase with oil. It just depends on what position the parts stick in when it jams. So if they're telling you the truth about it not being overfull when they did the repairs, then you lucked out and should be fine.

Allegedly, there were injector problems with 03 engines built before April 03. Those were the C94 injectors. Later 03 engines had the C95 injectors. 04s had a different injector, I believe. So if you have an 04 with a bad injector, looks like luck of the draw. I have the C94 injectors with over 30,000 miles and still running good. I just drove from Austin to Florida and back in December. I drove from Austin to SF Bay Area and back in the last two weeks. I am completely confident in this truck.

thanks guys. I absolutely love the truck and missed while it was in the shop. My first 4x4 and we got over a foot of snow and my truck was in the shop. What a disappointment. It seems to be running great now so I am happy. Hopefully that will be the last problem.

I wouldn't mind having a few more problems so I could get the lemon law. That is the only way my wife will go for me getting an '05. I love that new grill and the integrated brake controller plus more tourqe and hp. Just kidding but that is the only way I would get rid of my truck. There is nothing like'em.

Thanks again.
