I know there is a thread out there regarding this, I just can't find it. If anyone knows where I can find the answer, please let me know. Anyway, I have a '99 Explorer Sport, 5spd, and OHV 4.0. The problem I have is this, if I turn the selector into 4x4 low, it will engage 4x4 high, and stay there. If I put the selector back in the auto mode, it stays in 4x4 and the light stays on. It will stay like that until I disconnect the battery, then everything is fine. It has something to do with the position sensor on the shift motor. Anyone have any suggestions?
Bump! The motor runs if you put power to it. I can shift the t-case manually with ease. You guys have suggestions of a fix, without buying a new one from Ford? The assembly is pretty pricey. Thanx!
