I have a 93 F150 Xlt 4X4 with a 302 V8 Engine. I was wondering what the best thing to do was to get more power, but with a limited amount of money.
Truck doesnt seem to have enough power. Thanks for all the help

gears are quick and easy but can be expensive. What type of tranny are you running?
The usual things such as a more efficient air filter, headers, good exhaust system, better heads, cam etc. it all costs money!Cheapest way is probably a 351W.
Gears will increase towing and passing capabilites but kill some of your top end. nice thing about it though is your motor stays reliable. anytime you start into the motor it may decrease the life of that motor. Headers and a good flowing single exhaust would help alot to and not decrease reliability. also edelbrocks truck efi intake would be a nice addition as well.
if you somewhat mechanical then another option is a 5.8 swap. Ive done it along with many others and its pretty easy and is a great increase for the money.
keep the 302, have a drivetrain shop put in 4.10 gears- and while your at it put in some kind of low end locker on the back. you'll be real happy with the performance. always helps to have it fully tuned up with good filters and fluids, a freer flowing exhaust and a high capacity intake. ive had a 91 and a 95 302- both were pretty gutless, but there is lots of potential there if you gear it lower. good luck
