I have a 93 F150 Xlt 4X4 with a 302 V8 Engine. I was wondering what the best thing to do was to get more power, but with a limited amount of money.
Truck doesnt seem to have enough power. Thanks for all the help

Is the truck freshly runed up with new air filter, plugs, cap/rotor, and other necessary items? While you're at it check your compression, basesline that the engine is healthy before adding bucks. If so start with, and remember you said limited budget, a K&N air filter. You can get a chip comparitively cheaply when looking at the headers/full flow cat/exhaust cost. You can tune the computer with a performance control module for around $280.00, shorty headers from Gibson are around $350.00, they work in place of the exhaust manifold and require no special plumbing for the most part. It's not worth it not to install a high capacity cat if you do the headers, though which adds another $125.00 to $150.00 or more. Of course then you'll want to do the remainder of your exhaust system which can be $300.00 to $400.00+ based on looking at the new J.C. Whitney Truck catalog while writing this. You can shop ebay and save. The best way to increase power on a budget is define a plan of action and do it one peice at a time. Stick with your plan and if you get an opportunity to purchase some particular part reasonably, do so if you can afford it. While you're at it decide what kind of power increase you want, torque or horsepower. The 302 loves to rev but is a little weak on the torque side of the scale. Shorty headers are most effective in the mid to low range of the power band, the ummph that gets you off the line or over the dune. All the best.
