I have a 1972 F100. Ripped out a 360 V8 and threw it away. It only had 84 thousand on it too, ran great! Those are garbage anyway. I put in the 300 I6. and modded it a little.

I suggest you stay away from clifford. They are way over priced, and not any better. It is easier, it is a one stop shop for sixes.

Last night when I posted, I really didn't have time to elaborate. You really need to figure out what you want out of the engine. What my goal was here is to have low end and a strong upper midrange. I didn't want to have a stall converter. I have basically made this into a reliable daily driver, with all the power I need for pulling, and racing both. You can build any engine to the point where it is good for racing and not drivability or pulling. Or for pulling and has low racing performance. I wanted both.
I had my block and headwork done at a local machine shop. He did the balancing, and got me the Ross pistons and the rings. I bought my water pump, and fuel pump at and cooling fan Carquest. The Oil pump and timing gears came in the Clevite rebuild kit I got from Napa.
Exhaust work was done locally, as was tranny work.
I bought the 4V intake From J.C. Whitney.
Everything else was bought from jegs, and summit.
I may have missed a part or two. But you get the Idea.
