The 9th digit in your VIN number will say which code your axles are.
H5 4.10
H7 3.31
H8 3.08
H9 3.55
B5 4.10
B9 3.55
C5 4.10
C9 3.55
D5 4.10
F5 4.10
W5 4.10
I think C5 down to W5 are all 3/4 or 1ton axles.
Hopes this helps,
Trevor
The trans can be either an E4OD, an AODE, or a C6. Code 'E' is for the E4OD and code 'G' is for the C6. Both the E4OD and the AODE are 4-speed autos where 4th gear is overdrive. There will be an overdrive lockout button on the end of the shift lever. The C6 is a 3-speed auto, no overdrive. Physically, you can identify them by the number of bolts around the oil pans: 17 for the C6, 14 for the AOD/E, and 20 for the E4OD. There is a slim chance the trans could also be a manually selected AOD, which is practically the same as AODE, minus the electronic control for the overdrive. There will be an 'OD' position on the gear selector and overdrive is selected by moving the shift lever to that position. This trans also has 14 pan bolts.
The front axle is a Dana 44 TTB (Twin Traction Beam) with reverse-cut gears. The rear axle is a Ford 8.8".
The 4wd transfer case is either a Borg Warner 13-45 or 13-56. Both are available in manual-shift and electric-shift versions.
