My beast developed a new problem this morning....she started fine and got up to 160 F, put it in reverse and gave a little tap on the gas and it died. Started up again, put it in reverse and it died again. Started it up AGAIN and gave her HELLA gas and didnt die. It does it in Drive and reverse, im thinking it a carb problem. Stock 360 2bbl. Carb is a Reman.
the accelerator pump is different than the fuel pump. It gives a shot of gas into the venturis when you give it gas, to prevent the carb from leaning out and sputtering/dying.
oh...you mean that little plunger thingy? thats been replaced with a new one about a month ago. Maybe i should take it back off and check it out?
I would say the problem only happends on 2-3 on the scale...
(No throttle "idle" 0) (full throttle 10)
0..1..2..3..4..5..7..8..9..10
I think i figured it out...my coil might be the problem. It gets plenty of gas...to much gas for the coil to burn off so ill try getting a new Coil go from there.
man...im going to kill this thing! It wont spit n sputter when in park and N...only when theres a load on the engine like being in R or D! Maybe its the vacum advance on my distrib?
