Ok...I know this has been asked before and I did a search and didn't find much out. I am looking for a cargo area protector for my '03 Expedition. I want one where it covers the whole cargo area from the second seat back and I want to be able to still use the 3rd row seat when I need to without have to remove the cargo liner. I read where the NBX package came with this item. Does anyone know if I can purchase this for my XLT? I called my Ford dealer and was asking him about it and he is having a hard time telling if it is exactly what I want or not and then he said if I order it and it isn't what I want...they can't return accessory items. So I don't want to order it if it isn't what I want. Any help?
I have never seen a suv cargo area cover that can be left in place and still use the third row. They ar all mounted right behind the second seat and pull towards the rear and then latch in place. They are mounted in the side panels and just lift out. I have seen covers in everything from Lexus to Chevy and they all work the same.
Could you get a husky liner and then cut holes where the tracks run for the 3rd seat? $100 plus ship and a little customizing might get you what you're looking for? Comes in black, grey, tan. Just an idea.
wrknon02exp- unlike the older models, the '03+ models don't have a removable 3rd row seat. It simply folds down "flat" to make the cargo area bigger. A try would have to either be cut all the way across or somehow "hinged" to allow it to fold with the seat.
I was just thinking about this... go to some kind of fabric shop and get a piece of water/dirt resistant material (vinyl) the size of the area with the seats down. Grab some elastic & velcro to attach material to back of seat and you can easily make an NBX-style cargo liner. I could take some pics to show you how the Ford one looks & attaches to the seat.
I have a WeatherTech in my Navigator. It came with cutouts for the 3rd row seat.
These are customized to fit various vehicles. Works great. Search for floor mats and you will find their web site.
