I was just wondering if any one could give me a little info on if it is possible to tighten torsion bars on a 2004 F250 diesel and if so haow to do it? Any info would be great!!!
The Super Duty trucks don't have torsion bars. The 97-03 F-150 did and you could crank them up a bit to raise the front end.
Are you just looking to get a little more height out of the front end or?
racerguy is correct! your F250 has a straight axle not the IFS that 1/2 ton F150 has. even if you did have torsion bars it's a bad idea to tighten them to gain lift!
It is not a bad thing to crank the torsion bars some on Chevys, just about all the plow trucks have cranked torsion bars, on our trucks with heavy V-blades we max out the bars. Just make sure to re-allign it after. Sounds like this guy needs to add a leaf or two.
i guess if you add weight and then crank them up it might be ok. i did it on a 89 chevy 4x4 and it drove like i welded the suspension. stiff as hell ! the front end started to bounce just driving on flat roads.
