It all depends on what you have now. Is it fuel injected or carburator?
If you take a roller motor and put 10:1 flat top pistons, a Comp roller cam with a power peak in the 2500 - 6500rpm range, throw on some edelbrock RPM aluminum heads, and Edelbrock RPM dual plane intake, and a Edelbrock 800CFM carb. You should be able to put out 400+ Hp (RW).
Put a supercharger on it and now your in the 600+ HP range.
Put a supercharger on a 10 to 1 engine, and you'll be sorry. lol An SC motor needs to be in around the 8.5 to 1 range. And an 800 carb is big enough for a 460. Too big for a stock 460 actually. It looks like a pretty good kit, but go for the upgrade rods and crank. The 400 hp figure is possible though.
If your gonna stroke it out, you need to do something with the heads. Increased flow velocity is needed or your engine won't give you the power that you are seeking.
What year is the vehicle this is going in? Is it mass air or speed density? If its speed density, you will need to change your PCM to a 5.8 one. Or get a customized chip for the computor, or your engine will run too lean and burn up your pistons.
If your not wanting to do anything with the heads, then why go for the extra cubes?
