I cant stop quietly!
I recently changed the front rotors, pads, and bearings, plus rebuilt the calipers. I also put pad in the rear drums too.
Anyways when i am stopping i hear a grinding sound coming from the fron right side. I pulled the tire off and looked at the caliper and pads, well on the back of the pad there are shims the little pieces of metal and they were ripped and chewed up and trying to come out from behind the pad when in the caliper!
I dont know how to fix this other than to put new shims in, but the shims will only last a day or so!
Is ith the pins that hol the caliper on? or is it the metal thing that holds the pad on; on the bottom? I have no clue! I need help!
Thanks
Well i bought the high friction pads and they work great! After a day or so the on on the front right side starts to mage a grinding sound! if i buy shims it will be smooth and quiet until the pads shim is ripped!
Its like somethings loose and when i push the brake the pad moves up or down, which creates the shim to rip!
When i put the pad on there is a metal thing that you have to put on the bottom of the pad to hold it in place! i think that that is worn out and letting the pad move when spplying the brake!?
Its either that or the 2 pins that hold the caliper into place?
any thoughts?
thanks :-X23
