I would like some input on whether or not to add the power sliding rear window. This will be my first crew cab . I've included the power sunroof. What thoughts do you crew owners have ? I like the free flow of nice warm air as opposed to the air conditioning all the time. Thanks
I love it. I had a regular slider on an extended cab before, and it was a little pain to open. With the power slider on my Crew Cab, it makes opening it so much easier. Especially for the price to add one, I don't think you could go wrong. I am also like you. I like a good natural breeze more so than A/C.

Go for it, you won't be sorry! Just got my 2005 Harley Davidson which has sliding rear window! Just a click of a switch & WA-LA, you have a draft!!!!
Absolutely go with the power. Have a regular one in my extended cab also, Can't reach it without being a contortionist and veering into oncoming traffic while opening from the driver's seat. Didn't hesitate to order it when I gave Jeff the specs on my new crew cab!
I just wish that it could be opened via remote.. That would be a nice feature.. Make it easier to put long fishing rods or lumber in without having to open cab first..
Don't know how serious you're about the remote idea, but the aftermarket alarm manufacturers (such any alarms from Directed Electronic - e.g., Clifford and Viper) offer extra channel remotes and window modules that can control the roll-up and roll-down of windows. A clever stereo/alarm shop could hook you up with something. I got to admit, it does sound like a nifty idea and something to really get you neighbor's attention....
I have a Crew Cab with the moonroof and the power sliding rear window. I LOVE the power slider!! I had one in my last SD, and wouldn't have a truck without one. GET IT!! Trust me, you will LOVE having a power slider!!!
Thanks for your thoughts. Took your advice and ordered the power sliding rear window. Placed order on Tuesday. F250 Lariat Crew Cab V10 4.1 LS. Now the looooonnnng wait! Come on rebates !!!! Thanks again.
Shouldn't be too long a wait (depending on how many trucks your dealership sells, how many they already have on order, and what priority code they gave you). I ordered my truck (350 DRW King Ranch 4.3 LS LWB V10) January 5th; it was built during the week of the 18th; shipped during the week of the 24th; and arrived at the local rail yard this week. Now, of course, it's a matter of getting the &$@*$@ dealership to get it from the yard... It's the last few days that are the hardest...

Reason: typo
Talked to my dealer yesterday and asked them what priority they assigned to my truck, " 10 ". They said I should have a vin # within a couple of weeks. If the 10 priority is true any ideas on when the build date would be , how long for delivery? Now if I could sell my 2002 F150 Lariat! I love that truck, only 34000 miles on her.
Thanks
A priority of 10 (same as what I was given) is good - that's the highest that can be assigned to your order by the dealer. However, it's only variable as to when it gets in the production queue. Other issues are internal factory issues (such as supply chain management issues) and the priority your dealership has with the factory vs. other dealerships. In general, if your dealing with a large truck dealership that has little on order in terms of custom orders for customers, you should get into the queue pretty quick. I never did ge a VIN for my truck (until I saw it on the lot). Build dates, depending on models, has been running 6 - 8 weeks, depending on models. My SD was only about 4 weeks. Your delaership can check on their computers for anticipated build/delivery dates once the vehicle is scheduled for production. Until then, it's status is "free and clear" unless it's awaiting parts or something weird.
