This is a silly question, but what is the plastic hook on the dash of my 2005 superduty...??.......Seems like I saw a thread on here about that last fall, but I didn't read it.....Thanks....

Reason: spelling
trash bag...any bag actually. The hook secures the bag (shopping bag, wifes purse, etc...) Its to prevent the bag from falling to your feet on either the passenger or drivers side when driving. If I remember correctly... if you raise the rear bench seats you will see similar hooks designed for the same purpose (for larger shopping trips).

Oddly enough, my dealer referred to it as a "purse hook." I'm not sure what he was thinking when he volunteered the information while my wife and I were looking at it, but somehow it gave my wife the idea she was going to get to drive the truck...
According to the Ford Web site, this hook (which I always wondered about too) is a trach bag hook. Here's the quote from the 2005 Super Duty standard features page on the site: "Instrument panel - color-coordinated with glove box, 4 air registers with positive shutoff, ashtray and cigar highter, storage bin and trash bag hook." (any typos are mine).
Someone needs to make an aftermarket product for it. I cut mine up and put a black piece of plastic on it and had a game port installed on it for my front TV. Figured I could always buy another one to replace it if I got rid of it.
