Replacing a oil pressure sending unit
I have been having trouble with my 5.4 oil pressure guage. When I start up in the cold, ( It has been single digits lately ) the guage will not register, so I shut the engine down and check the oil and all is well. So now I restart the engine and the guage registers. I have read in the forums that the oil pressure sending unit could be the problem, so I ordered one today. Does anyone know what type of sealant I should use when I install the new one? Hopefully this will fix the problem, or I may have a bigger problem on my hands, but there is no indication of low oil pressure other than the "idiot" light. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
