Found The Holy Grail....idle Surge Prob
i ordered the holy grail.
it shows that the Idle Air Adjust Spacer is used only to correct sludge contamination concerns of the TB bore and plate. does that mean this thing has NOTHING to do with the surging idle problem??????? am i gonna have to return this thing?
i've allready soaked the TB and IAC with a bunch of carb cleaner so does that mean this plate WON'T work for me?

Mine only surges when it's warming up. It does it for about 2 minutes and then kicks down to normal idle where it's steady. It does it every time I start it up cold.
It doesn't sound like this is what the problem is though?

Thanks......now I also need some part numbers for 99 Powerstroke (search is a wonderful thing)
WOW
This is amazing. I've had this problem for 3 years. It's gotten progressively worse until yesterday when it started stalling as I slowed to turn corners!! (annoying and DANGEROUS in traffic). I've had it at the dealer. Tried to fix it myself. and spent about $300.00 over the last three years. I found this thread last night.
I bought the elec. cleaner at Wal Mart for $4.96. Took off the IAC as described, cleaned it, put it right back on (couldn't wait for it to dry out, too anxious). It runs like a new truck. This is great. THANKS.
