For those of you have not solved your swivel seat problem, I found this supplier. www.rvsurplus.net They are located at Elkhart, IN. Their online store lists captain's chairs and you can scroll down to pedestals for capt. chairs. They come in 10", 7, 5 1/2 in. rise for $55. DOT legal or safe to use is at your own discretion. They seemed to have lots in stock, as well as lots of RV interiors, seats, blinds, curtains etc. Happy shopping!

Has anybody tried these in ford vans ?
If they fit and work properly for $55, I'm ordering one.

I only need one for passenger seat and shipping from Ca. to Fl. might cost too much but let's see what we can work out.

DISCOUNT VAN/TRUCK in southeast L.A. County, CA. 1-800-884-3826. Around $200 and well worth it. I didn't feel like installing it by myself, so I took the van to an East L.A. body shop. I offered $40 plus I helped (especially with the wire routing to the seat--be careful with this and make sure the wiring is not stressed as you swivel the seat--lots of black tape and some zip ties plus some little carpet pieces will all be necessary to protect the wiring). Everything ,as usual, needs to be measured and planned out in advance. The Sportsmobile Forum is a good place to look for info about anything to do with van conversions. By the way, do you know why the swivels were outlawed? If shotgun is sitting facing the driver and there is an accident, the airbag or the impact can kill that person. My wife wanted to sit like that once and I explained the problem to her, and being the reasonable woman she is, sat the proper way. If I ever sell the van (now converted to a camper), I will reinstall the original seat pedestal (no lawsuits!!).
