The mechanic at the local Ford dealer claims my starting problem stems from a "less than full battery charge"
Can a 2001 Superduty with 7.3 diesel turn over but fail to start or fire if the batteries are low? The truck turns over but does not start, 54000 miles in a heated garage to boot. Mechanic claims the motor needs to turn 100 rpms.
I put the charger on the vehicle for 3 hours and it started.
Please help, I am going to frozen Michigan Friday to snowmobile, and I dont want to have trouble there.
BTW, batteries are less than one year old.
Thanks everyone.
Rick
One other thing, the mechanic said to charge the batteries for 24-36 hours. There is a chance my daughter left the back door (driver side) open by mistake overnight (We found it not fully shut, therefore inside courtesy lamp was on)

I have read about that before. You must need to turn over at a certain speed to create enough heat???
Yes, you should trickle charge them overnight minimum.
