Just watching the Monte Carlo rally, these guys are nuts. One driver, I forget who it was, drove into town on three wheels due to a suspension failure, through the tunnel in the F1 race course. Another guy takes out a cement power pole, and his co-driver had to be airlifted out. Despite all this, if I could do one type of race, it would be rally.
You most have saw that on Speed News. They air the full version on Sat. Feb 12 at 8:30pm. Man and I thought for a minute I missed the rally.
You should watch it. The fans are the crazy ones. They like to stand out in the road untill a car comes down at about 150mph. Then gracefully step out of the way. Or they line the road sides, standing right next to road with there hands out like they want the cars to hit them. The French, Spanish, English and Argentines are by far the craziest. Most rallies don't have a entrance fee to watch the rally. You just have to sit by the road and wait for one car at a time to come by. When it does, it's over in a flash.

I am this weekend up in Atlanta, Michigan. It's called the Sno*Drift Pro Rally and it's put on by Rally America. It's not as fast as WRC but just as entertaining. Nor do they allow studded tyres at Sno*Drift like they do for the Swedish Rally on Feb 11-12.
