400 build problem

We are rebuilding a 400 to go in a 79 bronco, the motor turned fine at the crank before we got it in the truck, but now that its in it wont turn at all. Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong?

Won't spin

Could the tranny, starter or drivetrain be locked up?Does the starter engage but won't spin the engine, could you have mixed components or is this a remove and replace job?Is the negative strap from the body to the engine hooked up?Possibly a sylenoid start wire has been knocked loose.Dead battery?Starter cable hooked up but not tight?Did you try pulling the plugs and then try and crank it over?Last but not least is there any way the cylinders or cylinder could have filled with water or antifreeze and caused a hydrolock? Thats all I can come up with, hope this helps.

theres nothing on the motor right now but the block heads intake and carb. we were trying to turn the motor with the crankshaft bolt to bolt the tourqe converter up. but it will not turn over at all.

Pull it back out and check. Do not force anything.

Well we finally got the motor to turn over by prying the fly wheel around. got every thing bolted up. I guess the motor was just really tight. Thanks for the info
