I have a 2001 excursion with v10 engine. When temperature falls below 10 degrees all that happens is a clicking noise when trying to start. When temperature is above 10 degrees then truck starts without a problem. I recently replaced the battery. Has anyone else had this problem?

your descriptions sounds like a starter problem, assuming you have charged battery...
We have had a number of zero or below nights here in Rochester NY and many nights at 20 or so... and I haven't had any problems starting my 2002 X up in the morning.
when it is really cold (10 above or colder) I typically turn on ignition without starting and leave it for a 5-10 seconds... lights come on etc. and juice starts to flow... then I crank her up.... this was my Dads 'secret' from the old days growing up in Maine.
You mention you replaced the battery. Is the alt putting out full power to keep the battery charged? What is the no-load voltage on the battery in the AM? What is the running voltage on the battery? Use your DVMM and get checking. My money is on the alt or possable the incorrect battery.
We use Mobil 1 in our v10 ex (since new) and it will start with the 4 year old OEM battery in below zero F weather without any addtional effort. Lately thats every morning!

It does sound like a starter problem to me, but just for yuks....check the two battery terminals to make sure that they are clean and tight. If you had the battery installed by a shop, the terminals might be loose. Not enough amps will cause the solenoid to click.
