cant seem to find the exit hole in the drain hose. been using a large drain pan but wife says NOT GOOD ENOUGH! can someone out there explain where i can find this thing? am working by myself. cracking the valve and hurrriedly crawing under isnt gettin it. searrched threw threads but couldnt locate it
My truck is the original body style, but I suspect the answer to be the same.... The drain tube runs down the passenger's side of the block, near the front. It ends high enough that you're best off trying to put a section of vacuum hose on the end, so you can get something under it to catch the drainage.
To find the line on my truck I cracked the valve open for just a second then crawl under the truck and look for a fresh spot of diesel. It will be on the passenger side of the motor, about where the head meets the block.
On my 99 sd you can see the end of the tube through the passenger side fender well. Its toward the front of the block just above were the oilpan bolts to the block. Its a 1/4" steel tube (roughly) Let us know how you make out!!
guys, found it, ran a 5/16 ID hose down far enough for me to easily stick a can. wife should be thrilled, thanks for making my day! yall have a good one too!
