Removing Speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer
Ok kinda stupid question but here goes, I have a junk F150 I am using the 4wd to use in my 2wd. Anyways, I was looking at the gauge cluster and was like hey that is in nice shape, everything came off fine but what kind of fitting is on the speedometer cable? It seems like it doesn't want to be removed and I don't wanna damage anything. Also is the speedometer cable used for the 4wd the same as the 2wd? The 4wd goes into the T-case I noticed when I was pulling it, do I need to take this?
Thanks,
Chris

The only difference might be in the rear end ratio. If the 4wd has a diferent diff ratio the speedo will be off. If this is the case, you might take the 2wd speedo gear off the cable and use it with the good truck. The gear comes off by a little black clip you pull out of the gear and it slides off the cable. Also, make sure the square end of the cable slides properly into the back of the speedo.
