Well, it's been snowing for about 7 hours here in the Philly suburbs. Here's some pictures of my shack all covered in the white stuff (that's my Exploder in the garage). I haven't measured, but I'm guessing it's at about 8 inches right now and not supposed to stop until tomorrow morning. Thank God for show blowers and hot chocolate!
Langhorne, Pa is at about 8 to 10 inches deep. Just pulled out the blower and cleared off the end of the driveway. The stuff is lite and fluffy. I think I'll be heading over to the Briggs and Stratton website soon. My 1988 Sears blower is having some major throttle probs. Township plows have already cleared my street, they came thru at 430, I guess they will be on duty all night. This looks like a 15 to 20 incher.
got 4 in last night. its snowing again with a strong wind out of the north now and 8 degress without the wind chill. been enjoying playing in the snow behind meijers and the mall where they dont plow with the taurus and my 4x ranger. got the house full of groceries and both vehicles full of fuel. let it snow! ......as long as the power dont go out........
We have got about 8 inches here in Sarnia, Ontario. Went plowing for 7 hours today and have to go back out again tomorrow. Everything we did today will have to be done again. I love my Ford truck!
We've got about 6" so far in upstate NY. Or at least, that's what was on the roads a little while ago on my way to work.
It gets pretty hard to get there when they keep closing roads..
Gotta love that little Ranger. Nothing stops a properly motivated 2wd.
Looks like up here we shouldn't end up with more than a foot. An hour south of me, they're looking at 2 feet. Nice change of pace, they're getting the worst of it for once.
Update from Langhorne, Pa.... 7:42 PM /snow has stopped, looks like 12 inches, it is raining or sleeting. I took the old F150 out for a drive, picked up some coffee and smokes,... Man, I love pick-ups. I was passing thru the Shopping Mall area and watching the crews clear the parking lot and I came upon a chebby driver stuck in the snow. It wasn't a Silverado, Suburban or any kind of SUV or truck, the guy was trying to get home in a Corvette!! He had no clue how serious his problem was. The guy said he was trying to get to I-95 to make it back to New Hope Pa.,I told him there was no way he could make it, and might end up talking to a state trooper and a tow truck. He decided to turn around and sleep in his office.
It was pathetic.
There calling for 10cm of Snow my way with 50kph Winds. Well the Snow is falling later than planned and we haven't got the Winds yet which is a great thing. The roads are passible but staying at the Speed limit.
8:20 in West Chester PA. Just put the snow blower in the garage for the third time today (I'd rather do 4 inches 3 times than 12 inches once). Total right now is about a foot, but it's stopped - at least for now. Time go sit down with a movie and popcorn...I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the morning brings...
It's actually supposed to be 55 here tomorrow, no precip, not much wind. Woo Hoo!! Not to shabby for Wyoming in January. Of course, I'm the dummy who let myself get talked into moving up here in December, and back to central Texas in July...does that seem backwards to anyone else?
