High Idle for PTO

High Idle for PTO
I am looking for a high idle system, either manual or electronic, to run my hydraulics, and am having a tough time finding one for a gasoline engine. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I've heard about using a cruise control unit for this. I don't have the details on it, but some said that they did some mods to a cruise control and it worked great.

On the older carb. trucks, as long as automatic disengagement was not a problem you hooked up a manual choke cable. On a newer truck maybe a throttle holder that goes from the gas pedal to steering wheel might be better. They sell for about $35 at NAPA and look like a big chalk gun. I have used them before and they work fine for setting a fast idle and for checking things like brake engagement and lights too.
