ok, guys i need help and dont even know if this is the right forum but its a start. a buddy of mine just bought a 77 F-100. its a 302 that used to be a auto and been changed to manual. its got a 3 spd on the floor. (the linkage is backward because i havent fixed it yet) my question is when you put it in first gear and let the clutch it shakes like a SOB. i dont know what s wrong? the guy he bought it from said its got a new clutch. is it the clutch, pressur plate, throw out bearing, or what ? ive heard that if its got the wrong flywheel it can make it shake bad , but then it whould do it all the time the engines running wouldnt it? one more thing the starter is incredibley loud. could this be because the flywheel is wrong or is it because the starter is no good? (the starter is brand new).
thanks for any help
(sorry its a long one)

Hmm, only things I can think of are to check that the flywheel to crankshaft bolts are tight, and to ensure that engine to tranny alignment dowels are in place.
Sorry we can't be of more help, but we hope you do decide to stick around.
somthing else i found out today. the cross member that the tranny sits on is not bolted down at all. this could be part of the problem i guess. i'll let you know what happens when he bolts it down.
