Has anyone ever tried to use the tornado or spiralmax or any other brand fuel saver device that you place in your air intake hose?
Or even those magnet thing-y-ma-bapers?
Will this really work or is it another gemick.
There are several differant kind to choose from on Ebay. Under fuel saver search.
If it will even give me a mile or two more per gallon I think that it will pay itself off in no time.
It sure does sound good doesnt it!!
I was reading on some of their client responses and was wondering if this thing really does work why have I just heard about it.
If they were that good do ya spose ford would have put one on from the factory. Alot of money is spent to get milage in the engineering dept if a tin wirlygig would do all they sat it does it would be on your motor
I watched a news test of several of those products last year. It even included the tornado and I was thinking of buying the tornado. To my suprise out of the brands tried the tornado actually hurt the gas mileage by a mile or two a gallon. The rest maintained about the same mileage and one or two helped, but did not help enough to justify purchasing the products. At the end of the show Tornado said that they were sure the test was a foul up and they said it will save you at the pumps.
I can't remember who put on the broadcast, but it opened my eyes to infomercials again. If it sounds too good...
I think a potato in teh intake pipe would do you the same. All they REALLY do is restrict airflow. That cuts your fuel back then. Also cut's power, unlike what they claim. It goes against the theory of opening up the airbox. It's just a restriction. Just like Nascar using the restrictor plates, but not quite as bad.
I have seen a slight difference on certain motorcycles, but not on any cars or trucks. They have been around for cycles for a long time. They are called turbulators. Save your money. If you want to throw it away send it to me.
I got a consumer reports mag a couple months ago stating they tested them and they found not gains at all. I sounded as they had tested them several different times in the past on various vehicles and the results were the same each time.
Spend your money on a six pack... I am sure will see more results.
Its a stupid scam, dont spend a dime on there stupid gimmicks. Replace your air filter if you want better mileage, or better yet get one of those hybrid things. =)
