The blower motor in my '96 F350 quit working , no noises at all . It first would not come on right away ( but would after a few miles ) and now refuses to work at all . There is power to the bottom pin in the plug for the motor when the heater is turned on . So before I spend the money for a new motor , can I test this one ? Is the bottom pin power and the top pin ground ?
Considering that you have already checked the fuse in the main fuse panel...I don't think the problem is going to be the blower motor resistor. Reason being the resistor pack offers a different resistor for each fan setting with each resistor providing appropriate resistance based on the switch setting. Most resistor problems are made evident by the motor only working at full speed. This is true because there is no resistor for that switch setting. It allows full power to the motor. Your problem is most likely the selector switch allowing you to choose between a/c and heater. I say this because you said you have no power to the motor itself. it would not be the speed control switch because that switch always rests at one position meaning there would always be at least one speed setting working. I would recommend a selector swtich check and replacement followed by replacing the motor itself.

302V8 , there is power at the motor ( bottom pin ) , I unpluged it an used a test light with the heater control turned on to verify . I tried a jumper wire from the battery also and still nothing , usually when the motor goes it first lets you know with some noise ! Why would the selector switch affect the motor ? I pulled the blower motor out last night and tested it on the work bench with jumper wires ( power to the bottom pin & ground to the top pin ) and still nothing , so I guess I'll replace the motor as ford390gashog suggests and see if that's it . Thanks guys .
