I would recommend changing the pads. Great results!! Search the forum for Porterfield and read the testimonials. I haven't had a spot of brake dust since I installed them. JP

Another thing about brake pads when talking about dust , has anyone had the problem with the dust getting started on the paint job? I have a f150 and a f350 and both trucks are white so easy to see but the dust got started from the rocker panels halfway to the windows . A friend had the same problem and didn't catch it in time- took the truck back to FORD and got a new paint job . So anybody with darker color should take a good look.

The pad definitely performs with the stopping power. I have 35" tires and the pads have performed quite well. I can't say whether or not they have more stopping power, but the definitely do the job. I am quite sure they are more durable than the OEM pads because of their composition and they are "race" designed. The fronts cost me $89 including shipping.

Who else has tried the Kleen Wheels? Are others happy with them? Any problems with them? They appear interesting.

As far as I'm concerned, using brake shields is likely to decrease airflow and thus brake cooling.

I vote for NAPA Ceramix pads.

Do the Porterfield brake pads cause the rotors to warp from excessive heat. The reason I ask is that I have a Ford Taurus one time and had ceramic brake pads installed and my rotors got warped about every 6000 miles. I drive 2500+ miles per month. I would really like to get brake pads that don't cause brake dust, but am leary about warping the rotors.

I'd look into the BENDIX TITANIUM pads... I had a serious dust issue on my '92 van, when I changed to the bendix titaniums pads the dust went away....

Since there are so many great options, why didn't Ford make dustless pads a stock item?

I've got the Kleen Wheels installed. Brake Dust is a thing of the past.

Plus I like the look of the wheels with a solid black backing in the spaces.

They are vented to allow cooling of the brake pads. Their site answers a on of questions.

I recommend them. For $35 a set I think it was well worth it.

I have a set of the Kleen Wheels and they do indeed prevent brake dust. I don't particularly care for the look of the brake dust cover so I will probably pull them off. I have the 18" FX4 wheels..
