fuel filter change
Can anyone give me some sources for deals on a fuel filter for a 97 diesel? I've seen some articles of places to get them, but the site search is down. Also test strips located in the phoenix,az. area. Thanks for any replies in advance. Jeff

I've been buying mine off eBay. Recently, the price of fuel filters has rised dramatically, regardless of the vendor you're dealing with. The place I used to buy mine raised their prices from $10/ea to nearly $20/ea.
I've stocked up, thanks to the prices I've found on eBay, paying as little as $5/ea in groups of 4.

just a word of advice...fuel filters, or any filter, for diesels is not an item you want to see how cheap you can get it ! there is always someone trying to make a fast buck and they would not hesitate to sell you a copycat filter. i agree you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, BUT i strongly suggest you use name brand and watch out for fakes. i use fleetguard filters. the pennies that you save now will cost you THOUSANDS, later. it's just not worth the gamble, trust me!! i work on these everyday!

I agree. It's false economy to save a few dollars on an inferior filter, and jeopardize the life of your engine. The filters I've bought on eBay were Wix filters. Do a search using: Powerstroke + filters. There isn't always something listed, but there is often.
