Wiper delay relay???

I'm having a problem with my wipers in a 1995 bronco. They run in either "LO" mode or start and stop anywhere on the windshield through the range of delay positions. They seem to work fine in the "HI" "LO" positions. When I shut them off they will stop where ever I turn them off instead of returning to the bottom of the windshield. The windshield washer makes them run continuously until I turn the truck off.

I suspect that the relay is bad because I'v already replaced the multi-function switch on the column. Anyone have any suggestions or advice. And if it is the relay, where can I find it - under the dash?

It could be the relay but the description tends to make me think the "park" contact in the motor itself may have gone south. This contact tells the wiper motor when to stop so that the wipers are fully down when it does. Basically, if its functioning properly, it keeps power to the motor until the wipers have hit their "full down" position. The only way to fix it short of tearing the gearhead on the motor apart is to replace the motor. Chances are, the relay is fine.

The motor seems to be strugling somewhat as well, so I think I will replace the the entire motor. Do you think the wiper delay malfunction is a result of the "park" contact as well??

Yes, because the relay supplies initial start voltage for a moment then the motor simply runs until the park position is reached and the circuit is broken. The next time the relay triggers it happens all over again. All the selector on the multi-function stalk does is change the resistance value to the relay wich changes the intervals at which the relay triggers.
