i ahve a 1989 f250 with the 7.3 diesel and wanted to turn the pump up but cant find the set screw on the side. i have taken the inspection plate off (where everyone says the screw is ) but cant find the screw anyone got any hints on how to find it

You have to turn the engine over by hand till you can see it with a mirror. Unplug the fuel shut off wire on the IP before you turn the engine over by hand so it can not start.
I think the timing mark is to be in the 1 o'clock position so you can see it.
Only go 1 flat of the allen screw at a time, when you get a light black smoke any more will just be wasted fuel and power will go down.
You should have a pyrometer before you turn it up so you do not burn the pistons up.
