390 pistons
ok, i think im going to go with the edlebrock heads and rpm manifold on my 390, right now i have my block getting checked at the machine shop and i have the pistons that have a circle in the middle, is this for lower compression? if so what type of pistons do i want to go with, for my future combo?

It sounds like you have dished pistons. They were common.
IMO the best pistons to use in a 390 is the TRW / Speed Pro L2291 pistons. They are a flat top forged piston, and have the proper compression height to yield good compression.
