I have my truck in at the dealer for a vibration problem and they just called to tell me they are replacing the driveline. He told me it was not set properly at the factory. When asked what was being replaced, he told me the driveshaft and various other components. My truck has only 3500 miles on it. Anyone else have this replaced, and if so, did it cure the problem? I love my truck and hope the issue goes away.
Any thoughts?
Had my drive shaft replaced along with various other parts, no fix. Now I have another intermittent vibration that is so violent it feels like the wheels are coming off. I have put 150 miles on truck since driveline replacement. It is now back in the shop. I just hope my dsb comes back favorable. Only 10500 miles on this one!
just got my truck (04 f150 screw) back after a week in service. (6th visit)
service invoice states: replc trans outputshaft housing and rear driveshaft yoke; removed drive shaft from stock unit and installed on truck, eliminated vibe; ordered new drv shft and installed...but all this didn't eliminate vibe!
they also resurfaced the front rotors for the 2nd time.
parts listed on invoice:
f3LY-7A039-A EXTENSION ASSY-
4L3Z-4635-AB KIT U/JT
F6AZ-7086-A GASKET-TRANS E
4L3Z-4782-AB YK-DRV/SHT U/J
4L3Z-4602-XB DRV/SHT ASY
bottom line, I still have the vibe.... I just want this truck gone! Kay
Wow, i will let you know when I pick up the truck. Hope this solves the problem. Does it have anything to do with when the trucks were built? Mine was built in March 04'.
Dealer just called and told me the vibration is still there after they installed the new parts. They told me they are hanging on to the truck for a few more days to figure out the problem. I did not think it was that bad of a vibration but they said they will get back to me soon.
My vibration problem was so bad that I was embarrased to show off my new truck. My wife felt unsafe to drive it. Dealer replaced all 4 tires, twice. Next THEY told me there was still a vibe problem and ordered and replaced the drive shaft at 700 miles. Now they tell me the vibration is gone. It is definitely better at highway speeds. But, at slower speeds (30 MPH or so) I can still 'feel the road' so to speak. I can feel it in the seat of my pants, subtle but still there at the slower speeds. Love the truck though! I'm waiting to see if it get worse. Been about 700 miles so far with new driveshaft.
There is hope that your driveshaft makes a difference.
