Never had any troubles with the Bosch units myself. Now Bosch sparks plugs you can toss in the garbage right out of the box though. So take that for what its worth.
The Bosch plugs just don't hold up and the platinum ones ares "pregapped" yeah right. I never had more hard starting, fouled plugs, and lousy fuel mileage as I did with a set of Bosch platinum truck plugs. And just so no one gets the idea that I had a bad batch of gas or a poorly tuned engine, I swapped them in mid tank of fuel to good ol' Motorcrafts and it was like running a brand new motor. I'm not the only one to have this type of experience with the Bosch plugs. Just proves the theory that "you can get better, but you can't pay more".
I also used them. Installed them in. Luckily, I finished right at sun down. Started the Bronco and 4 out of the 8 new bosch plugs I installed started arching to the side of the engine. I would've been searching for days until I realized it was the plugs. Definitely!! stay with motorcraft plugs. That was the reason, why I asked about the O2 sensor.
With items like that I like to stay factory, in the old days whils't working in the auto aftermarket I would have said yes Bosch,B/Warner etc are fine, but the last several years I have worked at dealerships, Ford,Subaru,LandRover and VW, I have a little exp. with Toyota as well. Now don't get me wrong I am not bashing atermarket stuff, some of it is better, but sensors and other electrical parts I have had trouble with personally on my rigs and seen many more in the service drive. Most of the time you would probably be fine but sometimes chasing your tale with an off brand part and then ending up buying the facory one in the end....well you get the pic.
