You have a lot of metalwork in that 56, both customizing and repairs. Very nice. I wish my skills were as good as yours.
Thanks for the reply.
The finished truck is awsome. Very clean. Very nice. Sits great. I like the color you picked and the quality. A real head-turner.
I bought my 56 about two months after you bought yours. I have some custom work, welding and repair as well as a new engine, tranny, rear, suspension, etc. like you did. Mine has been a rolling resto, though. But, I must say that I have a lot more than your estimate of 150 hours work in it and I didn't have near as much to do as you did.
Keep on truckin. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet at one of the shows.

The 150 hrs is just time spent welding for 1 guy times two. One welded the other did the grinding, cleaning & smoothing. Total time buildng was 2 years non stop.
I'll be at the Hot August Nights Show this year. I don't do show & shines in Reno except a drive thru at the Peppermill & Atlantis. My show & shine I do in Sparks. Hope to see you there this year.
Mike
Thanks for the complament. Also nice to hear good things for all the work done.
2 years is still pretty good time for the scope of the job you did.
Congrats.
I find her reading magazines & asking me questions & with me in the garage helping out on the upgrades for this year.
This year we are putting on a chrome grille (That is done already), resetting the tail lites behind the roll pan, & painting ghost flames.
GET ERR DONE!!

I hear ya! I wanted a hot rod all my life. My lovely bride (of 20 years) is the main reason why I have my 56 today. She has been a great supporter of my hobby and is just as enthusiastic as your wife at the cruise nights. She hasn't gotten into the magazines yet, but she a real trooper. She gets a little wierd about the time I spend sometimes and a couple of the major expenses made her gulp, but all is well.
I have a small (8.5 X 11) sign that I made and put on the truck at cruise nights and shows to list all the mods and credits. Under "Thanks to..." it lists "my wife Diane". She likes that. First time she saw it, it brought tears to her eyes. Bought a welder that weekend.
