got a crack that starts inbetween the wiper blades at the top of the black at the bottom of the windshield goes up 5" and goes all the way across the passanger side. this happened the day after a brand new windshield was put in.....dont want to put a new one in unless i have to cause this one is only 6 months old.
im not sure about the rules but i have gotten an inspection with a cracked windshield but it was only once so i dont know....just go ask someone that inspects cars
I've had mine inspected with a crack for several years without a problem. I was told as long as the crack doesn't obstruct the drivers line of view, then there shouldn't be a problem. Alot of that determination would probably be with where you had it inspected.......
thanks guys, i just didnt want to have to hassle with that. they might give me more crap though cause of ca tags on the truck....anybody got a good insurance co to reccomend out there?
in TX the only "wording" for windshield is that the wipers must make full contact with the windshield. No mention of cracks. I actually seen a car at a show with Lexan for a windshield and a TX insp sticker. I asked about it the next time I was in for an insp and the inspector said rules are real loose on windshields, go figure??
