abe started a thread entitled "color of FORD Letters" on 1-1-2005. There is a discussion of this topic there. I don't know if there was any consensus in the end or not. Good luck!
Over he years Starting back in 1963 my desire to own a 50s F-100 was always on my wish I could get one list. They were every where mostly used by logging company’s. I joined the Army in 66 attended the university of South east Asia. ETS in 1974 and ended up living in Oklahoma. Ardmore off I 35. I was attending College under the GI bill. Working at a tow company and in the reserves. Cam across an old Oil field F-100 1954. Belong to a retired pumper that did odd jobs. Painting and servicing oil rigs. Cammanche oil company bought the truck new in 54 that baby blue color, the tail gate ford was black.lettering as I remember. The Y Block was not running and Stromans motors rebuilt it for me, as I recall for 800 bucks. That 292 ran like a Rolex watch! Originally I think the mileage was at 68.000 I was an A&P mechanic and drive it Dayly to American .flyers at the Airpark. Winters were nice but summers in that 100 degree heat was a tough run. My 1955 the truck I own now is a Dark Blue with a silver tint. Almost looks black at nite a full moon reflection brings out a beautiful color. The tail gate lettering is black. A repop from China, I think. But nice quality if you know what I mean, I Ben seen them with Chrome lettering, and all colors over the years but I think from the factory the lettering was baby blue same color as the truck. But in the custom cab. I understand Ford did letter. Only a few colors were available. As I recall.
