A 9.0 1/8 = 14.0 1/4
A 8.0 1/8 = 12.5 1/4

and to think those numbers came out of my head. So whats an 11 in the 8th? a 15 16 in the quarter? im so close to those vtechs lol. Completely unrelated, i got smoked by a mercedes slk 32 amg driving down the road the other day. I merged onto the 2 lane highway, and saw him blow me away. I downshifted, and caught up to him when he stopped accelerating at 80 in a 60. We got to the next stoplight, and i looked over, some older dude, but intent on racing none the less. I actually beat him off the line, and basically to 30 or 35. I shifted, i guess he didnt, he took off, and i was at 100 tailing a way behind him, smoked lolz. I want a turbo, i doubt Ill ever hang with the mecr sports cars, but at least ill smoke the mustangs and ricers.

hu, my trans am smoked an amg mercedes, did not see which model it was though, i was passing him on the outside of a 90 degree corner(lots of suspension work i can take that particular corner which is marked at 10 mph at 60), i saw his front end raise a bit in my mirror so i gave it enough throttle to open the secondaries and toasted him, i also beat one of those mitsubishi lancer evolutions when i had my 2.41 gears in the car, i use the taller rear end during the summer because i do a lot of highway driving, anyway we were on the interstate and we both slowed to about 30 then he hammered on that little four cylinder just as we were intering one of those long corners and i was on the outside, passed him before i got out of second, went on up through third to 4800 rpm (154mph) just to make sure he did not try to come flying by me after i slowed down

OK WELL YOUR AN @ss. I was gonna buy a transam, but it was crap, and would take too much to get the way i wanted it to (it was only 200 $ but need a tranny, and prolly everything else). Thats some serious highway gearing, and serious power to smoke an evo, they are close ratio from what ive read, made to keep the turbo in peak alot. Maybe from a stop it woulda been different, there supposed to be in the 4s for 0-60... and quarter mile in the 12s stock. Not to shabby for a stock car. My dream is to run 0-60 in under 6, and the quarter in under 14. In a 6K pound truck, supposedly, the sticker reads 3400 and 2700, thats 6100 pounds, thats gonna be tought, but oooohh so fun. Getting traction would be insane. That cant be the right weight tho. Its a 4x4, but still. To run that some caculator i used says i need close to 700 HP. Thats 1 number thats not streetable. Wonder if one of those turck weighing stations would weigh me quickly for free. haha...

sorry i just like to brag, if it makes you feel any better my f 150 is one of the slowest vehicles around, the only thing it can beat is my buddies ratted out crx that has 41 hp to the wheels, my TA is a 77 with a 412 cube engine, wanted one since i was 4 I worked 2 jobs through high school to get it, i have raced cars faster than an evo from a dead stop, they all beat my to about 55 when my secondaries finally open, after that I usually win, a local pharmacist who has a modified lightning is looking to race me some time soon, and my boss wants to race me with his lotus elise

go to http://www.neufamily.org/fastesttruck.wmv to see a chevy that looks stock run in the 10s in the quarter

Twilight, you're probably reading the GVWR of the front and rear axles.

An F-150 generally weighs 4000-5000lbs depending on cab and bed length.

also 4x4 trucks weigh considerably more.

Yea i knew thats what i was reading, but thats SOOO much weight lolz. Oh well. I can hang with the slower ricers. Im bout to go to some small tires, tires. Like some 24 or 26es, just to get some seriously better acceleration. Hoping to shave a second lolz. Hell, I might try to find another f150, a 2x4, slam it, and so forth...

An 11.0 1/8 in a car would be about a 16.5 in the 1/4. As a general rule, you can multiply the 1/8 time by 1.5 and you are pretty close to the 1/4 time. In a truck you don't do as well on the big end because of the aerodynamics, so the multiplier is higher, probably between 1.6 and 1.7. I think when I was running high 18's my 1.8 miles were around 11. I might dig up some old time slips and check for sure if I get energetic.

That depends. Does it spin the 31's? If it won't hook with those you probably won't see much, if anything, with the shorter tires because they'll spin even more. If the 31's hook, and the shorter tires also hook you might gain 3-4 tenths if the shorter tires are significantly lighter.

The 31 hook up most of the time. Ill bark them in second, but thats about it. If i drop to a 25.5 or so inch tire, then i will be subtracting about 20 percent of the tire size, increasing torque. I think this equates to .7 on the rear end if i did the math right. 20 % of my rear end is is .7 because i have a 3.5, so with the smaller tires, itd be like having a 4.2 turning 31s.

That will help if it will hook. If I ran that setup I would be out of motor at 1000ft and have to shift to 5th gear. That's a big reason I stuck with the 3.08 when I rebuilt the rear end.

BTW, I dug out some old time slips tonight. I have one that's an 11.16 1/8 at 59.95 mph that turned out to be a 17.81 @ 72.68 mph. On my best pass, which was a 16.89@77.1, the 1/8 mile was a 10.62@62.91. I took about 10 slips and checked the difference between the 1/4 and 1/8 times. The smallest multiplier was 1.583 and the largest was 1.596. I think if you multiply your 1/8 times by 1.59 you'll be pretty close to your 1/4 times. Multiply the 1/8 mph by 1.22 to get 1/4 mph. When I ran the same numbers for my Lightning the multipliers came out to 1.55 and 1.24, so they should be in the ballpark. The Lightning is a little more aerodynamic than the old flying box design from 1990 so it does a little better on the top end.
