1996 Explorer EB acceleration problems.
I have a friend who has a 1996 explorer eddie bauer same as mine. Just the other day we were on the highway, when my friend decided to drive past 90mph on his eddie bauer. we noticed that there was a noticable thump, i guess comming from transmission as soon as the needle hit 95 or 96mph. i know this maybe a crazy question and you may question why are we going so fast on the highway in the first place but we've heard that there is somthing on the tranny that prevents its from going to a certain speed. im guess if there is, then maybe it may explain the noise we heard and felt. does anyone know anything about this???
