Need help with part

Hi. Can anyone advise me where I can locate an e-brake underdash release handle (t-handle with push button release), I don't need the cable that goes to the wheels just the release mechanism under the dash, the foot operated mechanism works well but every time I want to realease it I have to feel under the dash and release it manually, I have so far been unsuccesfull down here (australia) in locating one, f-series spares are rare as hens teeth down here, I can get one but the guy wants 160 dollars for it, I have tried ebay with no success, can anyone point me in the right direction (websites etc.) I am willing to get one sent over in the post if need be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. BTW, I have a 1985 F100 302efi lwb.

Chris, Australia

P.S. If anyone can send me one I can organise money transfer etc.

i dont know about the push button release but i have seen the t handle you are talking about, my truck has it. im sure i could find one at a junk yard somewhere. i wouldnt mind searching for you. another suggestion would be to go on google.com and look up " ford truck parts hialeah fl" or "miami fl" and call the truck parts places/junk yards around here and ask them to get it for you. dont tell them you are calling from australia yet when they find it, ask them if they will ship it to you cause you are out of state. in fact, ask them if they ship first if you dont want to wait through all the "let me look for it" junk. then, when you find the one that says yes, give them your address. he will probably say that will be extra. . make SURE to say these words in there very casually. . . . yeah it should be like another 2 or 4 dollars ontop of regular USPS(united states postal service) DONT Let them tell you it will cost like 15-30 bucks. cause its NOT. . if anything at worst it will be 10 bucks, but the part should be like 5 or 10 bucks and the shipping, if it were to me here for instance would be 3.85 in regular parcel post. to you in australia it should be no more then 10-15 dollars at worst. in fact, go online to usps.com and check the rates, that way you can tell THEM how much it will be. my zipcode here is 33014(hialeah) enter your city in AU and check the shipping on USPS.com then call the junk yards you found in Hialeah or Miami and say what i said to say to them. let me know if that works. if you need more help IM me at LUKEFIVE8 on AIM or email me directly. this will cost you a pretty penny(relatively) but it can be done. unless someone can point you to a site that would have this?

another route: 800-81-5772 call that number and ask them for the part, and if they will ship to you. this is off of autopartscorner.com seems to be part of some affiliate network of truck/car parts co. i found this site under a different name, something like discounttruckparts.com or something like that. they have ok prices, a little high it seems but they seem to have them available. although the different domain names for what looks to be the same generic website is a little sketchy feeling to me. then again this website we're on now does the same thing so who knows.

thanks for your help guys. It has become apparent that the e-brake handle i have got is differnent to the e-brake you guys have, I think it was made in Australia, it is totally different to your e-brake handle, mine has a push button on the tee-handle to release the e-brake, I think i am going to have to source this part locally, i have seen the same thing on a ford fairlane (australian model). I checked the american parts websites and it is totally different to what I have got, I wouldn't like to take my chances and try to adapt it. Thanks for your help.
