I think Ivan paid $75 for his D70

It is amazing how much the price of stuff varies depending on location. I think the NW is an old Ford mecca.

Do you have any self pull yards in your neck of the woods? THAT is where you want to check. They usually have a fixed price for all truck/van rears. $75 sounds about right for what I paid but I've got no memory. I know for certain it was under $100. If I went to the parts yards where THEY pull the axle then I'd be paying $400-$500 for the same axle. Shop smart . . . Shop "S"-mart.

pull-a-part was my next venture, but i cant call for parts availability, i have to go there and find one....its a pretty big lot so it might take some time.....im wondering, will the axel have a 70 where my axel says 60?? and, ive heard that they stopped using 70's in 94, is that true?? i hate to admit it, but if i find a 70 under a chevy for cheap im jumping on it!!!

There are no good junk yards within miles of here, unfortunatly. From what I have been reading on the net a dually 70 is normally about 73" wms to wms. Apparently the width difference is made up in the hub/drum. Maybe this was a mini motor home (basically a reworked 1 ton van) and just had single rear wheels?

My Dana 70 has 70-2 stamped on it. I believe the the -2 means it has a two piece carrier.

they stopped using Dana 70s in F250s in '85.

my 70 has "70-2" stamped on the passenger side webbing on the top. it is about 1/4" high.
