To play, you deal out all the cards. Then one person starts the game by laying down 1 or more cards. They must be a set though (pair of 3's, three 7's, etc.) Then the next person must lay the same number of cards, but ranked higher in the deck. (I start with two 3's, and you play two 4's). However, if you were to play two 3's, the the play would skip the person beside you. Play keeps going until no one can play on the pile. However, you can choose not to play, but I will explain this later. Play does not have to go numerically. For example, if I play two 3's, don't have to play two 4's. You could play anything higher than a 3. The play keeps going up to the face cards. After Ace come deuce. You need one 2 will to play on two Aces, two deuces to play on three Aces, and three deuces to play on four Aces. After the deuce comes Joker, and nothing beats a Joker, and only one Joker is needed to play on anything. Once one round is done, another starts, with the last person to play starting the next round. This keeps going until everyone is out of cards.
You can choose not to play on a pile if you feel you will need your cards later in the round. This is only done with a deuce or Joker though.
In a 4 person game, the first person to run out of cards is called "President." The second is "Vice President". Third is called "Vice *******", and last is "*******." In a 5 man game, the 3rd person is neutral, 6 man 3rd and 4th are neutral, and so on.
Once the cards are dealt out for the next hand, the ******* must give his 2 best cards to the president, and the president gives his 2 worst cards to the *******. The vice pres. gives his worst card to the vice ******* in exchange for his best card. Then the game continues with the president starting play.

3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K,A,2,Joker
As far as strategies go, don't ask me cuz I have no clue. Like I said, I'm pretty much always the *******.

I also like any type of poker. For those of you who like Texas hold em, Try Omaha hold em. Instead of 2 cards in your hand you get 3. There is also what we call Macomb hold em in which you have 4 cards in your hand! Probably not the proper name for that but that's what we call it. Everything else is the same. Makes it really intersesting. What I like is all the different games of poker you can have. For instance we play Chase the ace, low Chicago. Also criss cross. Or roll your own. There is also Diablo. These are all just different versions of 7 card poker with wild. Really fun.
I also like Eucher (sp) hearts. Gin rummy. Spades. Hi-lo. Just to name a few. And my new game is Uno blast with the kids of course!
we play that game a lot too. It can get pretty high pots. But the one that we always seem to get the highest is 5's and 10's. You ante up and then get 5 cards. 5's and 10's are wild. If you want to stay in you will if not the dealer will say"1,2,3 drop" (when everyone is ready). If you want out, drop your cards. Otherwise stay in pay a quarter or whatever the originol ante was and you will get 2 more cards face up. So you will have 7 cards to make your best 5. Everything is the same for what beats what except 5 of a kind will beat a royal flush. Whowever stays in will see who has the better hand. Winner will take the pot and loser will match the pot. Then re -deal and start with everyone again. Keep going until 1 person stays by himself. Then his hand has to beat the top 7 of the deck (the B%*ch hand if you will). If he does then he wins the final pot. If not, pay up and keep going.
So if you have 5 guys starting with just $.25 ante the first pot is $1.25 Say 4 guys stay in. They each paty an extra $.25. So now you have $2.25. 3 guys lose each paying $2.25. next pot wil be $6.75. 4 guys stay again. Now the pot will be $7.75 to be paid so the next pot will be $23.25. And so on and so on. It's really tempting to stay in when there are alot of wilds in your hand. But most often you have to have at least four of a kind to have a chance at winning. We play it a lot.
