Is this a stock head unit? If so, then you have some work to do. You will need to use a line output converter to use RCAs. It connects inline in your speaker wiring and converts the head unit's "high level" signal(commonly called speaker level) to a low level signal that your RCAs need. It will have instructions. Or, if the amp has speaker level connections, you can just connect the speaker wires from the head unit directly to those terminals. And you will have to find a "switched" 12V connection for your amp's turn on, meaning it turns on the amp when the ignition is "switched" on. If you have an aftermarket head unit the RCA connections are easy to find on the rear, and there will be a specific wire to connect the amp's turn on lead to, so that the amp is powered on when the head unit comes on.
If you need line converters, i've found decent ones for like 15 bucks, no quality lost using them either. as far as remote I put a toggle switch in to run this off of a constant power source(ie. cig lighter or other) . just remember to turn off!
The wire that signals the amp ( not the rca's) is used to tell the amp when to turn on and off, wich is the same time as when the rhead unit turns on and off.
